Rosemary Uses: How to Enjoy this Versatile Plant

JoyUsGarden.com

Rosemary has a distinctive, slightly bitter flavor and is used in dishes that feature meat, poultry, or fish. It is also a popular herb for flavoring olive oil and is used in herbal teas and remedies.

1 of my favorite culinary uses for this herb is to flavor roast potatoes. I lay sprigs of rosemary on the sheet, put the potatoes over the sprigs, & sprinkle all with olive oil.

I sometimes put rosemary & water out to steep in the sun to use as a hair rinse. I take those sprigs out as soon as it’s strong enough for my liking.

If you have a large rosemary shrub or have a farmers market where you can buy long stems, it’s lovely to use in arrangments.

Dried rosemary can be used as a natural air freshener. Simply place a few rosemary sprigs in a bowl or sachet and place it in a room to add a fresh, herbal scent.
