Here are some of my weekend musings - things I find interesting, entertaining, useful & yummy. Have a wonderful weekend!
Well it’s hard to believe another halloween is over which means we’re now marching on towards Thanksgiving. Once November 1 arrives, the remainder of the year becomes a frenzied blur. The weather has finally cooled a bit here in southern California and we actually got a few sprinkles yesterday. Hopefully more of that liquid stuff falling from the sky is on the way this winter.
Here are some of my musings for this weekend:
Speaking of halloween, this video of Aladdin on his magic carpet riding through the streets of NYC is worth a watch. Now that’s quite the fun way to get around the Big Apple!
Are you a big softy for anything animal like me? Then this story about the Presidio Pet Cemetery & it’s nine lives will warm your heart too. Plus, I lived in San Francisco for 19 years & often took walks this somewhat wooded & beautiful piece of urban land which overlooks the bay.
If you live in America, then you know Thanksgiving will be here in no time. I put together 4 Fall Centerpiece Ideas & Inspirations that you can make days ahead to take a bit of the stress off on the big food feasting day.
I love it when food bloggers put together roundups because I don’t have to search like a mad woman for recipes. Here are 101 Thanksgiving Recipes from appetizers right on through to dessert. Have fun finding your favorite new dishes!
I can just smell the pumpkin pies baking right now – the cinnamon, cloves, allspice & nutmeg wafting through out the house. I used to concoct my own pumpkin pie spice but haven’t for years so I must try to make this blend.
Here’s another pumpkin recipe roundup which includes sweet, savory & even dog treats. We have to keep the pooches happy after all!
Are you in need of a warm fall cocktail right about now? This bourbon spiced pear cider only takes 3 ingredients & would warm you from your head to your toes.
I’ve been fascinated with anything Dia De Los Muertos ever since a trip to Oaxaca which inadvertently coincided with this oh so colorful celebration. Lucy went to a Day Of The Dead celebration in Tijuana last week & although this 1 is geared a more towards us gringos, it’s festive none the less.
Have a wonderful weekend,
